When Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) came into existence in 2007, these two core types of property classifications came into existence. Khata translates into an ‘Account’ in English. The A Khata and B Khata classification allowed the BBMP to identify legitimate properties and properties with anomalies.
